Have You Checked Your Credit Report Lately???

Have you checked your credit report lately? If you haven't checked it yet, you should definitely look to do so. Not checking your credit report can be detrimental. Make sure you take the time to find out what is on your credit report and find out your credit score. You do not want to wait until it's time for you to make a big purchase to find out your credit is not what you thought it was.

www.annualcreditreport.com is a great website to view your credit report for free from each of the three major bureaus (Experian, Equifax, Transunion), once a year( every 12 months).

There are other situations where you can get a free credit report.

1. You are a victim of identity.
If you believe you may be a victim of identity theft, you can obtain one free credit report from each of the three major bureaus.

2. You are looking for a job. If you are unemployed and plan to search for a job within 60 days.

3. You have put a fraud alert in your credit report.
When you file a fraud alert, you are entitled to one free credit report from each of the credit report agency. An extended alert entitles you to two free reports from each bureau with-in a 12 month period.

4.You are on the receiving end of an adverse/negative action. This includes being denied loans, employment, insurance or other benefits because of your credit. You are entitled to see a copy of your credit report.

Hopefully, I have convinced you to check your credit report :)
